Solid Figures
Have you ever been to a 3-D movie? At a 3-D movie it seems like the objects are coming out at you. They are no longer flat on the movie screen. That's because the movie is "3-Dimensional" and not on a plane surface.
Just like in 3-D movie, objects in real life usually aren't flat. Objects that are 3-dimensional (not flat) are called SOLID FIGURES.
Like polygons, SOLID FIGURES have attributes. These attributes are usually based on the figure's FACES, EDGES, and VERTICES.
FACE: the flat surfaces of the solid figure
EDGE: where two surfaces meet
VEXTEX: where two or more edges meet (plural = vertices)
